Tours & Tournaments

The Grand Slam tournaments are the most prestigious in tennis, comprising four events:

  1. Australian Open - Held in Melbourne, Australia, in January on hard courts. (available on Discovery + on the Eurosport Channel)
  2. French Open (Roland Garros) - Held in Paris, France, in late May and early June on clay courts. (available on Discovery + on the Eurosport Channel)
  1. US Open - Held in New York, USA, in late August and early September on hard courts. (available on Sky)

The ATP Tour includes various levels of tournaments:

  1. ATP Masters 1000 - Nine tournaments with the highest points and prize money outside the Grand Slams. Notable ones include Indian Wells, Miami, and the Shanghai Masters.
  2. ATP 500 - Thirteen tournaments including the Rio Open and the Queen's Club Championships.
  3. ATP 250 - Numerous tournaments such as the Qatar Open and the Delray Beach Open.
  4. ATP Finals - Year-end championship featuring the top eight singles players and doubles teams.

The WTA Tour also features several levels of tournaments:

  1. WTA 1000 - Similar to ATP Masters 1000, including the Indian Wells and Miami Open.
  2. WTA 500 - Twenty-six tournaments including the Dubai Tennis Championships and the Charleston Open.
  3. WTA 250 - Various tournaments such as the Hobart International and the Nottingham Open.
  4. WTA Finals - Year-end championship for the top eight singles players and doubles teams.
